Jonathan Creek NC is located in Western North Carolina and is a beautiful mountain location to call home. This community in Haywood County North Carolina is located along US Highway 276 between Maggie Valley NC and Exit 20 of Interstate 40. Jonathan Creek is twenty miles from Tennessee and twenty five miles to Asheville NC. This picturesque mountain community consist of a valley where its namesake creek runs through and is surrounded by towering mountains. The creek (also called Jonathan Creek) a favorite for good trout fishing was named after Jonathan McPeters.
Jonathan Creek NC is a Township bordered by Utah Mountain, Cataloochee Mountain, Iron Duff NC, Ivy Hill to the south and White Oak to the north. The area where Jonathan Creek NC is located while well known for its spectacular mountain views is a farming community dotted with small residential developments. J Creek is the name given to the community by the locals.
A large scale development is in the plans for this small community. Frank Wood, Cataloochee Companies president, has announced a Jonathan Creek NC project which would include shopping and residential developments. Phase One which is known as Cataloochee Village Commons is proposed to be completed by October 2011. Phase Two will include a lodge, resort, and a home store furniture mart. Phase Three will be the residential part and will include a golf course.
