Jonathan Creek NC is a Haywood County North Carolina community and is located in the mountains of Western North Carolina. The name comes from the creek (Jonathan Creek) that flows through the area. The creek (good trout fishing) was named after Jonathan McPeters. Because of the elevation in Haywood County all creeks and rivers flow out of the county (downhill). The boundaries of Jonathan Creek township include Cataloochee Mountain, Utah Mountain, Iron Duff, Ivy Hill, and White Oak on the north. The land of Jonathan Creek which was originally used for farming has changed to include several new residential areas during the past twenty years. This location is known for its beautiful mountain views and convenient access to I-40 and is less than thirty minutes to Tennessee (west) and Asheville, NC (east).
